1 in every 8 women will face breast cancer...
9 out of 10 will survive if the cancer is
detected early and treated.

Women can help in the fight against breast cancer by being aware of their risk, having information about prevention and being pro-active with early detection.

OUR GOAL: Bee-A-Buddy For Breast Health is a breast cancer awareness program offered by Holy Redeemer in partnership with B101 FM. The goal is for women to take control of their own breast health and to support each other in scheduling regular breast self exams and mammograms.

HOW IT WORKS: Participation in Bee-A-Buddy is free and easy. Women select a "buddy" - a mother daughter, sister, friend or co-worker - and pledge to call their buddy each month with a reminder to conduct a monthly breast self exam and schedule their annual mammogram. LISTEN: During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Holy Redeemer will present a series of reports on B101 with life-saving information on Breast Cancer Prevention and Early Detection featuring Emily Scheivert, host of B101's "The Women's File".
